Partner, Michael Marable, recently obtained summary judgment in federal court. Michael represented a retailer that was involved in a dispute with a customer over a returned item. The dispute escalated and the police were called. The customer later filed a lawsuit seeking damages of $1,000,000 for outrage, mental anguish, negligence, and wantonness. Michael filed a motion for summary judgment, which was granted. Plaintiff’s claims were dismissed in their entirety.
